Continue with the registration and licensing procedure as explained above.
Double-click on the desktop shortcut to start AnyLogic. On the desktop, the shortcut's name should now change to "AnyLogic" and a correct icon should appear. If so, execute "chmod 755 ~/Desktop/sktop" to set execution permissions for that shortcut file. The permissions on the sktop may be be incorrect. The installation should finish and should create a file named sktop on your desktop. Read the license, close it by pressing "q" and accept it. 
At time of this writing, that would be "sh anylogic-university-6.6.0.".
